Sunman, In. — Congratulations to St. Nicholas 8th grade student, Mary Kate Ketcham, who won the Serra Vocations essay contest with her essay giving honor to former St. Nicholas pastor, Father Pascal Nduka.
Mary Kate’s essay was the winner out of all 8th graders in the Archdiocese. Mary Kate traveled to the Fatima Retreat House in Indianapolis on Tuesday, April 17, to receive a certificate and $100 prize. Her essay will also be published in the Catholic newspaper, The Criterion.
The Serra Club fosters vocations awareness and sponsors a yearly essay contest for 7-12 graders in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
