Lisa Ann (Grieshop) Struewing, age 65 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away suddenly Friday, February 28, 2025. Born October 14, 1959, in Batesville, she is the daughter of Thomas and Rita (Raver) Grieshop. Lisa married John Struewing on May 24, 1997. She was a graduate of Batesville High School and a member of Holy Family Church.
Lisa enjoyed work, which is evident by her 48 years in the payroll department of Batesville Casket. While Lisa took pride in her work, family was most important to her, especially spending time together outdoors. From a young age, she would follow her brothers into the woods to explore and worry her mother by climbing trees around the family farm. Her adventurous spirit continued into adulthood as she spent many weekends camping at state parks, as well as biking and swimming with her children and grandchildren. She and John looked forward to their annual trip to Florida in the spring and to the Covered Bridge Festival in the fall. She also enjoyed family trips to Holiday World, girls’ trips to Shipshewana, shopping, and sleepovers with her grandchildren. No matter where she was or what she was doing, she always had a book nearby.
An excellent planner and skilled cook and baker, Lisa loved hosting family gatherings. She made sure there was always plenty of homemade food, including her signature seven-layer salad and everyone’s favorite Jello dishes and desserts.
Lisa is survived by her husband John, children Kara (Brandon) Richard, Christopher (Ashley) Moenter, and Jared (Gracie) Struewing, all of Batesville, grandchildren Jema, Bowen, and Colson, sister Sandy (Layne) Cameron of Noblesville, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Timothy and Jeffrey Grieshop.
