Linda Ruth Murphy, age 72, of Metamora, Indiana died Friday, March 27, 2026 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born August 14, 1953 in Batesville, Indiana she was the oldest of three daughters born to James E. & Ruby B. (Henson) Hunter. She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County.
Linda was retired after years of working at Arby’s in Brookville and later at McDonald’s. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She had also served as Metamora Township Trustee for many years.
Survivors include her mother, Ruby Hunter of Brookville; a daughter, Tracy (Jason) Denney of Laurel, Indiana; three grandchildren, Zane Denney, Aliton ‘A.J.’ (Hailyn) Denney, Joe Denney; two sisters, Sue Baker and Janet (Kenny Pennington) Hunter all of Brookville, Indiana; as well as several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Hunter who died 4/11/2006; a brother- in-law, Loren ‘Doug’ Baker; and her mother & father-in-law, Herschel & Ann Murphy.
Rev. Mike Holman, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Brookville will officiate the Graveside Service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
