Linda D. (White) Baurley, 72, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Ripley Crossing. She was born on Thursday, April 22, 1948 in Milan, Indiana to Horace White and Genevieve (Ridenour) White. She married her husband, Raymond “Ray” Baurley, and he survives. Linda and Raymond were married for 48 years and have two daughters, Jane and Kate. In 1970, Linda began her life-long career in education in Milan. She taught health and physical education while also coaching many sports teams over time. After 29 years, she eventually retired in 2007 from Milan Junior Senior High School. It was after she retired that Linda often enjoyed reading, canning, gardening, flowers, and volunteering in the community. More than anything, she loved her time with her family and grandchildren.
Linda spent a substantial amount of time volunteering and engaging herself in the community of Milan. She was the President of the Golden Rule Club and the Secretary for the Milan Community Dollars for Scholars. Linda was an active member of both the 1954 Museum Board of Directors and the Good Samaritan Hope Chest. As a former teacher, she was also a member of both the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and the Ripley County Retired Teachers Association.
Linda will be dearly missed by her husband, Raymond “Ray” Baurley, of Milan; daughters Jane (Jeremy) Lieland of Batesville and Kate (Steve) Stock of Milan; brothers Gene White (Anita) of Franklin, Indiana and Bob White (Linda) of Rising Sun; sister Virginia Black of Somerset, Kentucky; grandchildren Cayden, Nicholas, and Ross Lieland, Lainey, Taylor, and Brody Stock. She was preceded in death by her parents.
