
During their presentation, they highlighted the positive impact the College of Veterinary Medicine has on the state of Indiana, noting how it trains future veterinarians and veterinary nurses, conducts research and operates the Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory and Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Akridge and Reed also mentioned the university’s current need to replace the college’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Future accreditation of the Veterinary School is in jeopardy without a new hospital. Purdue is Indiana’s only Veterinary School and one of 30 in the United States.
