Leising selected to serve on agriculture committee

Indianapolis, Ind. — Republican state senator from Oldenburg, Jean Leising has been appointed to the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee of the Midwestern Legislative Conference of the Council of State Governments. Public officials on the committee discuss agriculture policy at the national, state and local levels.

“I am honored to have been chosen to be a member of this committee,” Leising said. “As someone who lives in and represents rural areas, I understand the importance agriculture has on our state and country.”

The committee will research and discuss the DuPont cellulosic ethanol production facility in Iowa.

Senator Leising is also the chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture.
