Lawrence Walden, age 84 of Harrison, OH passed away Sunday morning, November 27, 2016 in Brookville, IN. Born June 26, 1932 in Elk Valley, TN he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Walden & Nellie (Bridges) Walden.
Lawrence was a retired teamster who had received the Million Mile Safety Award as an over-the-road truck driver. He loved driving his truck and also loved music. He played banjo in a few bluegrass bands. He was a member of the East Fork Freewill Baptist Church in Guilford, IN.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lucille (Crider) Walden, his son Winfred E. Walden, his sister Gail Bird and all his siblings Howard Phillips, Roby Phillips, Luther Phillips, Ernest Phillips, Earl Phillips, Luthena Scalf & his twin sister Florence Smith. He is survived by his sons Larry Walden (Maria), David Walden (Rhonda) & Ernest Phillip Smith-Walden; his daughters Shirley Baker (Rick), Mary Ann Moore (Ronnie), Kathleen Puckett (Randy) & Donna Schuman (Steve) along with 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10:30am at the funeral home with his son Larry Walden officiating. Burial will immediately follow services in Glen Haven Cemetery.
