Lawrence R. “Larry” Starker 79, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday October 7, 2018 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
He was born January 28, 1939 in Milan, IN, son of the late Gerald L Starker and Mildred (McCoy) Starker.
He worked as a First Mate for the Ohio River Company, and then the McGuiness Towing Company with over 40 years combined service.
Larry attended the Aurora First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Aurora Moose and Eagles, the Eastern Star and former member of the Scottish Rite.
Larry worked on barges, he was a First Mate, and he also had his Captains License. Boating was Larry’s passion, he loved cars and boats. Larry loved his animals, and has had several dogs, the latest two were Tinker Bell & Zoey. He enjoyed time with his brother Gary, and he will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his brother, Gary Starker of Aurora, IN; .
He was preceded in death by parents, and his wife, Linda L. Starker.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 11, 2018, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 pm with Pastor Ellaine Hussung officiating.
