Muncie, In. — Muncie businessman and candidate for Congress in Indiana’s Sixth District Jonathan Lamb raised more money than any of his challengers. Lamb eclipsed the fundraising efforts of Greg Pence, brother of Vice President Mike Pence. Greg Pence has reported $436,962 in cash-on-hand, the Lamb campaign has reported $468,275 on-hand.
Lamb said, “I am not running because I come from a political family with ties to Washington D.C. or because I have deep-pocketed special interest money backing and funding my campaign,” he said. “I am running to make a difference for my children and all Hoosiers. We need solutions, not promises, and by creating a grassroots network and meeting with Hoosiers all over the 6th District I will be a fresh voice to represent the people across the entire 6th District.”
Without Washington DC insider resources and large special interest lobbying and PAC money, Lamb has largely been self-funding his campaign with the help of many small grassroots donations from supporters’ right here in the 6th District.
“The other candidates running for Congress in the 6th District don’t understand small business, manufacturing, and agriculture,” Lamb said. “Our campaign is truly a grassroots effort, with a team built from people right here in the district with a vast amount of experience and wisdom in business, education, agriculture, government, and policy.”
Lamb’s and his wife’s family have been farmers, workers, and business owners in the 6th District for eight generations. “I didn’t have the luxury of having a multi-million business handed to me, or having a brother in high levels of government to help me get ahead. My wife and I had to venture out to find jobs and start our first companies before we returned to our hometown to grow our businesses and raise our family in the same place we were raised.”
