The Franklin County Varsity Wildcats picked up another EIAC victory on Monday night as they defeated Rushville 7 – 4.
On a soggy Monday, a lot of distractions were present and it could’ve been easy for the Wildcats to come out flat. In a game that was switched from an away game, to a home game last minute (Rushville’s field was unplayable due to rain), and it being the Monday after prom weekend, Franklin County stepped up and picked up the win!
Early on the game was back and forth with both teams going deep in the early innings (Rushville’s Hamilton in the first and Franklin County’s Kiersten Schell in the second).
The Wildcats were then able to take control in the bottom of the sixth inning when they put up three runs to give them a comfortable lead heading into the top of the seventh. The Lions then threatened, but they were only able to put up one run and the Wildcats picked up the win!

Bree Bischoff: 1/4 (Single), 1 RBI
Anne Becker: 0/1, 3 HBP

With the win, the Wildcats record now sits at 9-6 (4-2 EIAC). Franklin County was supposed to play Batesville at home Tuesday evening, but rain has now changed the team’s schedule for the rest of the week.
Here is the Wildcats schedule for the rest of the week:
Wednesday: Away @ Connersville JV/V 5:30 PM
Thursday: Home vs. Batesville JV/V 5:30 PM
Saturday: Away @ New Castle V Only 11:00 AM
The Lady JV Wildcats picked up a big EIAC victory on Monday evening when they won a closely played game against the visiting Rushville Lions by a final score of 7 – 3.
The game was back-and-forth throughout and the score was tied at two heading into the bottom of the sixth. In the sixth inning, the Wildcats exploded for five runs which proved to be plenty of run support for Bella Lee in the top of the seventh. The Lions would threaten in the inning, but they could only muster one run and the Wildcats took the game 7 – 3.
In the game, Franklin County out hit the Lions nine to six, and the Wildcats made some key defensive plays throughout the game to key the victory.
