The Lady Wildcats blanked the Union County Patriots tonight 1-0 in brutally hot conditions. Shelby Pearson punted the ball to Grace Noble who scored the game winner with a well struck left-footed shot. Noble was a threat racking up 5 shots with 3 on goal and was not easily contained. Noble’s ability to explode and attack the goal is a skill the Wildcats have come to rely on.
Also joining the attack was Jordan Nichols (4), Jess Parker (2), Jamie Stortz (1), Brylee Pace (1) and Abby Lucas (1).
The midfielders played a key role in pressuring Union County and rejecting the ball back into the Patriots defensive third.
The Wildcats defense held strong amid injuries. Shelby Pearson recorded 9 saves on the night anchoring what is proving to be a very tough defensive line and earning the first shut-out of the season.
