The North Decatur Lady Chargers Varsity Softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to Rushville on Wednesday. Rushville took the lead on a single in the first inning.
ND struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Rushville, giving up ten runs.
Rushville fired up the offense in the first inning. Molly Zachery drove in one when Zachery singled.
One bright spot for The Lady Chargers was a single by Keisha Crosland in the first inning.
Kara Chandler earned the win for Rushville. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out six.
Haley Arthur took the loss for ND. Arthur surrendered seven runs on 12 hits over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Macy Scudder and Crosland all had one hit to lead The Lady Chargers.
The Lady Lions racked up 14 hits. Briley Munchel, Grace Muir, Chandler, Rochelle Meyers, Zachery, and Kendra Hamilton all had multiple hits for Rushville. Rushville didn’t commit a single error in the field. Muir had the most chances in the field with six.
