The Bulldogs lost on Friday to Greensburg by a score of 3-2.
Greensburg got off the bus with a 3 run lead due to the EIAC rules regarding make-up games. The first 1.5 innings started earlier in the season, so we had to finish where we left off. Batesville won the night but lost the game. We celebrated 3 seniors with Senior night before the game. Anna Gerth, Kylie Laker, and Paige Oldham were congratulated by the lower classman on the team for their hard work and sacrifice for the past 4 years as Bulldogs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Greensburg pitchers struck out seven, while Batesville’s senior Paige Oldham sat down four. The hurler went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. Batesville hit one home run on the day. Emma Belter had a four-bagger in the fourth inning. Sophie Lee led Batesville Bulldogs Varsity with two hits in three at-bats.
The Bulldogs are now 6-11 on the season.
