The Lady Lions have a long short night at the Dog Pound. From JV Caoch Shelly Prickel: The JV volleyball team ran their season record to 13-2 with a conference win over Rushville 25-19, 25-14. The libero, Lily Abplanalp, had 10 service points, 2 falling for aces, while Monica Gerstbauer chipped in with 7 points including an ace. Caitlyn Broering and Tori Kurtz were aggressive at the net with 5 and 4 kills respectively. Maggie Walsman, Kelsey Shupe, Abplanalp, and Broering all had 6 good serve receptions for the match. The team will face South Dearborn at home on Thursday. Come support these hard working Lady Bulldogs!!!
The Varsity team exercised its control early from the service line and then moved into offense. We are really trying to get ourselves more calm and in the best position to make solid contacts above the net. We were able to do that tonight and minimize out errors. We have been plagued this season with unforced errors and I have been telling the girls 10-12 errors a set are all you can afford. Less than that if you are playing a good caliber team. Last night we were able to average 12 unforced errors a set! Batesville wins 25-14, 25-8, 25-14.
We will welcome The Lady Knights from South Dearborn on Thursday. JV first swing takes place at 5:00 pm with Varsity to follow.
