What an incredible day!  Girls claim Regional XC Championship Title for the first time in school history and they did it by beating the field by over 30 points and Lily Pinckley racing in as the Regional Runner up and setting a new school record at 19:02! The boys placed 3rd advancing them to Semi-State next Saturday as well and 7 Bulldogs were named to the All-Regional team!  Yes, it was an incredible day!

Let’s start with the girls…scoring a low 53 points, it was a close race between Batesville and Center Grove through the 1st mile, but as the race progressed, by the time the 2nd mile came around, the dogs have put themselves in position to win the race and never looked back as Center Grove came in 2nd with 84 points.  Whiteland was 3rd-92 points, Franklin Community placed 4th with 101 points and the Greensburg Pirates took the last spot to advance to Semi-State in 5th at 117 points.  Greensburg’s Brenner Hannah was the overall champion of the race with a time of 18:46. Lily Pinckley kept Brenner in her sights and finished 2nd at 19:02. Ava Hanson was the next Bulldog to cross the finish line in 5th at 19:33 and making the All-Regional team.  Two more Dogs placed in the top 20 to make the All-Regional team and they were Maria Lopez-10th (20:14) and Madison Rahschulte in 16th (20:37), both running a personal best. Sophie Myers was the 5th Batesville runner across the finish line in 26th (21:10), followed closely by Liz Loichinger in 32 (21:21) and Trysta Vierling in 35th (21:31).  Congratulations girls on getting the job done and making some history!

The boys finished 3rd overall with 84 points getting beat by champions Center Grove with a very impressive score of 31 and Franklin Community taking 2nd with 60 points.  Whiteland was 4th place at 123 points and Greenwood finished out the top 5 to advance to Semi-State with 156 points.  The boys were led by senior Adam Moster who placed 6th and ran a personal best of 16:15.  Also being named to the All-Regional team were Ean Loichinger in 10th (16:34) and Joshua Myers in 15th (16:49). Benjamin Moster was close in 24th place (17:26) as Daren Smith followed him in 36th (17:47).  Dillon Murray was the 6th runner to cross the finish line for the Bulldogs in 44th spot (18:08) followed closely by Nathan Villani in 46th and running a personal best of 18:11.  Way to go boys!
