Justin Denver Horton, age 29, Sunman

Justin Denver Horton, age 29, of Sunman, tragically lost his life to injuries sustained in an auto accident on December 17, 2022, in Dearborn County. He was born in Lawrenceburg on October 15, 1993 to Jody and Tammy Horton. After graduating from East Central High School, Justin enlisted in the United States Army proudly serving his country in the Dragons 1-82 Field Artillery 1St Cavalry Division. After being stationed in multiple areas in the US and serving two tours, Korea and Germany, Justin returned to his hometown. Justin was a union carpenter employed with OK Interiors, (OKI). He is a member of the Milan American Legion Post 235, Lone Star Lifted Legends of Ft. Hood, TX along with founder and lifetime member of the “Kool Kids Klub.”

Once home from the military Justin still served his community by helping anybody, anytime, anyplace. He was without a doubt the life of the party always quick to put a smile on your face. Justin enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all loved spending time with friends and family enjoying a cold beer.

Justin is survived and greatly missed by his mother, Tammy Horton of Sunman; father and step-mother, Jody and Teresa Horton of Edmonton, KY; his mentor and best-friend, papaw, Jeff Henson of Sunman; brothers: Austin Horton of Sunman, Josh Horton of Aurora; step brothers: John Tillberry Jr. of Edmonton, KY, Jeremy Tillberry of Edmonton, Justin Tillberry of Missouri; uncle, Anthony Spaulding of Sunman; aunt, De-Nell Deyer of Hamilton, OH; four children: Denver, Oaklynn, Laikyn along with there mother Kiersten Horton and Mackenzie with her mother Kelsey Rodgers; several cousins, niece, many friends and “Special Friend” Mallory Brim of Sunman.

Justin was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Sheryll Henson; paternal grandparents Jerry and Olive Horton; great grandfather Denver Maggard and great grandmother Ava-Nell “Polly” Buell.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial ride and celebration of life June 25, 2023 at the Sunman American Legion Post 337 located 412 Eastern Ave. Sunman, IN. Memorial donations can be directed to Justin’s children, checks payable to Tammy Horton.
