Juanita Louise Hammond, 83, of Metamora passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born on August 7, 1942 as the daughter of Thurman and Ida Claypoole.
Juanita married Harry Hammond on January 7, 1963 and he preceded her in death.
She lived a life full of love, laughter, and giving. Over the years, she served as treasurer at Bridgetown Church of Christ, volunteered as an EMS, and was a proud Girl Scout leader, always eager to lend a helping hand. She loved simple pleasures like fishing on a quiet day, admiring classic cars, working in her garden, and traveling whenever she could. But nothing ever brought her more joy than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jackson; son, Mike (Joellen) Hammond; grandchildren: Pamela (Adam) Horwitz, Meagan (Alex) Martini, Chris (Erika) Fasbinder, Matt (Grace) Fasbinder, Josh Fasbinder, Josie Hammond, and Sawyer Hammond; great grandchildren: Rowen, Colson, Addie, Mia, Stella, and Atlas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and step brother, Herman Claypoole.
