Joyce Ann (Box) Winegar

Joyce Ann (Box) Winegar, 87, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Joyce was born on October 23, 1938, in Mitchell, Indiana. She was the daughter of Harold Edward and Goldia (Beasley) Box. She married her husband of 53 years, Winfred “Win” Winegar, on July 14, 1956. He preceded her in death.
A devoted wife to Win, who faithfully served as a pastor in many Indiana communities before settling in Aurora, Indiana. Joyce was his steadfast partner in both ministry and life. Together, they shared a deep commitment to their faith and community. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life and was the foundation upon which she built her family and home.
Joyce was a dedicated homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for and raising her family. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them and celebrating each of their accomplishments.
A self-taught artist and a founding member of the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild, Joyce had a remarkable talent for watercolor painting, with a special passion for still-life and landscape scenes. Through her art, she captured beauty in everyday moments, leaving behind works that will continue to inspire and comfort her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Goldia Box; her husband, Winfred Winegar; her daughter, Doris Callahan (Winegar); and her brother, James Roy Box.
She is survived by her son, Edward (Mel) Winegar; her eight grandchildren, Eric (Sharon), Deidre, Alex (Elizabeth), Jessi (Lance), Bret, Ian, Clay, and Emily; her eleven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Abbie, Hannah, Paige, Grayson, Lily, Millie, Graham, Jack, Harper, and Brody; and her brother, Donald (Mary Beth) Box.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, in Aurora, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Hogan Hill Cemetery.
A celebration of Life will be held afterward at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 16394 SR 148, Aurora, Indiana until 6:00 p.m.

Joyce is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband and daughter.
