Joseph H. Martin, age 77 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at St. Andrews Health Campus. The son of Robert and Ethel (nee: Jackson) Martin was born on March 19, 1942 in Middletown, Ohio.
Joe served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. On Mar 27, 1967 he married his love Ruth Thies in Enochsburg, Indiana. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna in Enochsburg, the American Legion Post #271 and the Knights of Columbus Council #1461 in Batesville. Joe worked in maintenance for KB Foods in Greensburg, IN for many years. Most would agree, Joe was an outdoorsman. He liked spending time chopping wood and of course, he loved to hunt, especially deer hunting. Joe liked to play cards too and was always ready for a good round. The proud veteran and dear grandfather will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his children Brad (Martina) Martin of Batesville and Stacy (Brian) Fullenkamp of Oldenburg; 4 grandchildren, Gwen Martin, Anthony Martin, Katelynn Fullenkamp and Blake Fullenkamp; and his sisters Dorothy Werner and Joanie Budd.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruth preceded him in death along with his siblings Bob Martin, Margaret Jones and Rosie Martin.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2019 from 4:00-7:00pm. Followed by 7:00pm funeral services all at Meyers Funeral Home. Rev. Shawn Crisman officiating. With military honors immediately after by the Ripley County VFW Post 3183 and Prell-Brand American Legion Post 271.
