John Seals
88, of Sunman, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
John was born April 4, 1936, in Miamisburg, OH, to the late Chesley Seals and Pearl (Akeman) Seals. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
John worked as a Supervisor in the Press Room at Aurora Casket, with over 35 years of dedicated service; he also worked as a handyman for Merchants Bank with over 12 years of service.
John was a faithful member of Dearborn Baptist Church, where he was actively involved. John previously served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Harrison.
A passionate aviator, John enjoyed flying planes for over 20 years. His love for craftsmanship was evident in his woodworking, where he meticulously built clocks, tables, entertainment centers, and nightstands. His attention to detail and perfectionism shaped his skillful work. He also enjoyed word searches, watching westerns, and indulging in his love for history.
John was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Emma (Vinson) Seals; daughter, Annette (Kim) Landrum of Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Jon (Theresa) Landrum of Delaware, OH, Nathan Landrum of Lynchburg, VA; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan; and several siblings, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chesley and Pearl Seals; two sisters; and a half-brother.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Dearborn Baptist Church, 9636 S.R. #48, Aurora, IN. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM with Brother Darrell Sparks officiating.
Military services will be conducted by members of the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Madison, IN. on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:00 am.
