John F Scott, age 68 passed away early July 6, 2019 at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati surrounded by his family. John was born on February 16, 1951 the son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Craft) Scott in Madison, IN. John grew up in the Dupont area before moving to the Holton community, where he was a graduate of the Holton Class of 1969.
Shortly after high school John would enter the service and serve his country. He joined the Unites States Marines from 1969-1971. After his time in the service he moved to the town of Osgood and this is where he would remain the rest of his life. He married Debbie (Schultz) on June 29, 1996 and they were blessed with daughter Brittany.
John worked numerous years for the feed mill in Millhousen but has spent the last 26 plus years working for Batesville Tool and Die. He was a dedicated employee, having a perfect attendance record for the past 15 years. He enjoyed his family and attending ballgames, auctions, and raising a garden.
John is a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Osgood American Legion, and the Osgood Masonic Lodge.
He will sadly missed by wife Debbie, daughter Brittany, step daughters Jennifer (Jeremy) Schultz and Amber (Bobby) Dunham, grandkids, Sammantha, Dylan, Cody, Carson, Patience, and Robbie, great grandkids Meyha and Liam, along with brothers John White, William White, and Frank White, and sisters Betty Byran, Loretta Chastell, and Charlene Vanderpool. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Jacob Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2019 from 4-7 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2019 at 10 am also at Neal’s with burial following in Moores Hill. Memorials maybe give to the family in care of the funeral home.
