John Cave Dowell, 86 years old of Yorkville, IN passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023. A motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Cavaliers, Over the Hill Gang, and Friends on Wheels, to name a few. John and his late wife, Mary, enjoyed many rides with their fellow motorcycle club members. In 2021, John along with his family and friends went to Sturgis where they all rode and made many memories during the 10-day motorcycle rally. John also had a passion for classic cars and not only attended car shows, but often showed his 1966 Chevy Impala SS and Bonneville. John loved playing cards and many memories were made with friends and family during their famous poker nights.
John will be deeply missed by his children Vickie (Arnie) Watts, Tammy (Daniel) Cox, Robert (Tammy) Robertson, and Jimmy Robertson; grandchildren Anthony (Elizabeth) Poncio, Austin & Alyssa Cox, Lexi & Lily Robertson, Dylan & Sierra Robertson; great grandchildren Maxwell & Lucy Poncio; and in-laws Rosa, Bonnie, Willie, and Alex. He is preceded in death by Mary, his wife of 19 years, and Judy (Vickie’s mom), his wife of 33 years.
Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday, April 19 from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Glen Haven Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to leave condolences at www.andres-wuestefeldfh.com
