Joan M. (Wenning) Koors, 91, Greensburg, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born, July 22, 1930, in Millhousen, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Olga M. (Herbert) Wenning.
Joan was a 1948 graduate of Napoleon High School. She had farmed for many years with her husband. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served as the Liturgical Director for 38 years. She had also worked as a substitute teacher at St. Mary’s School, played the organ at church for weekend masses, weddings, and funerals, and volunteered for many activities at the church. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella.
Joan was married to David D. Koors on September 4, 1950, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2005.
She is survived by; 1 daughter, Mary Kay (Jeff) Dinn, Greensburg; 1 foster daughter, Monica (Julio) Medeiros, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; 3 grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff May) Dinn, Crystal Dinn, Adams Wilson; 2 foster grandchildren, John (Aga) Medeiros, London, England, Matt (Bruna) Medeiros, Rio de Janeiro; great grandchildren, David, Kasandra, Marirose, Alexander, Bradley, Joyanna, Kaleb, Robert, Hannah, Alisha, and Logan; sister-in-law, Martha Wenning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 2 sons, John Edward Koors, Patrick David Koors; 2 sisters, Lucille (Vernon) Rethlake, Loraine (Bernard) Bickle; one brother, Herbert Wenning.
Family and friends will gather at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until 11:00 am. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, also at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
