Joan L. Hellmich, age 90 of Batesville, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born January 23, 1928 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Bertha M. (Nee: Post) and Edward B. Oswald. She was a graduate of Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio. On November 19, 1954, she married Thomas R. Hellmich at St. Louis Church.
Joan is survived by her husband Tom; daughter Beth (Tracy) Williams of Zionsville, Indiana; son Tom (Cara) Hellmich of Carmel, Indiana; granddaughters Jessica (Justin) Wedgewood of Washington, D.C., Alyssa Hellmich of Carmel and grandsons Kent Williams of Indianapolis and Harrison Hellmich of Carmel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21st, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 2 p.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Bob Weakley O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Sisters of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg or St. Louis School in Batesville.
