In today’s planned baseball action, North Decatur tries again, going to Tri,  Trinity Lutheran visits Jac-Cen-Del,  South Decatur hosts Waldron, Shawe Memorial returns the favor, visiting Milan, South Dearborn visits Franklin County, Greensburg hosts Batesville, and Rushville is at East Central.

And you might’ve missed this Wednesday–  IndyCar has lowered the boom in a nearly unprecedented way, on rules violations in last month’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Florida.  The Number 2 & 3 cars, driven by Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin, have been disqualified from that race, the number 12 of Will Power has gotten a 10-point penalty, and each has been fined $25,000.  The organization says the 3 cars, all with Team Penske, broke the rules on so-called “Push to Pass” technology.  That electronic system can only be used at certain times in a race, and not on restarts, but IndyCar says that’s exactly what those cars changed the system to do.  Newgarden and McLaughlin were found to have gained a competitive advantage, but Power didn’t.  With Newgarden’s disqualification after an apparent win, that title now goes to the Number 5 McLaren, driven by Pato O’Ward.
