Jerry Lee Dorst, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on April 16, 1944 to Harold and Anna (nee Keyes) Dorst in Hamilton, Ohio.

 

A 1963 graduate of North Dearborn High School, Jerry married the love of his life, Rhonda Handy, on May 22, 1965, in Harrison, Ohio. He spent his professional life working at Cincinnati Incorporated where he established himself as a skilled and respected metal photo engraver. His dedication to his craft was evident in every project he undertook, showcasing his attention to detail and commitment to quality. Together, Jerry and Rhonda built a loving family that became the centerpiece of Jerry’s world. He was a long-time member of the Harrison Church of Christ where he served as a devoted deacon for several years. He also was a long term member at Bright Christian Church.

 

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Dorst, their sons, Bryan (Jana) Dorst and Erik (Katie) Dorst; and his beloved grandchildren, Corinne (Tim) Dombrowski and Alec Dorst. In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is also survived by his brother, Robert (Sheila) Dorst, sister-in-law Judy Baker, and his brother-in-law, Rick (Kathleen) Messer, as well as nephews and nieces. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.

 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodi Dorst,  and his parents, Harold and Anna Dorst.

 

A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM, with Rick Messer officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home located at 215 East Broadway Street in Harrison, Ohio. Burial services will take place at a later date and at the convenience of the family at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.

 

Jerry Lee Dorst will be remembered for a life of quiet strength, faithful service, his allegiance to family, his love of the outdoors and the invaluable contributions he made both at work and to those who loved him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

 

Memorials are suggested to be made in Jerry’s memory to Bright Christian Church, 24457 Stateline Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana  47025.
