Janet loved watching and feeding her hummingbirds. With numerous feeders it wasn’t unusual to feed from 30 to 50 at a time. Other interests included mystery novels and mystery shows on T.V. such as Criminal Minds and NCIS. Apparently she had a bit of a sweet tooth with a weakness for butterscotch pies and long johns from the bakery. In later years Janet enjoyed taking bus trips with Croswell Tours, water aerobics at the “Y” (although she couldn’t swim) and some wine now and again was a good thing. According to her family, mom was a good cook who looked forward to the holidays and loved having family over to cook or grill out for them and while everything she made was good, her german potato salad will be missed. Depending on who you talk to, her mother’s cranberry salad recipe could also be missed…………..or not.
She is survived by her daughters Rachel Wilson of Batesville, Jennifer Wesseler of Osgood; sons Tony of Batesville, Mark of Osgood, Lloyd of Napoleon, Steve of Batesville; sister Mary Ann Wilson of Napoleon; brother Bob Uphaus of Columbus, Indiana; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sister Thelma Uphaus and brother Russell Uphaus.
