Jamie Kay (Lykins) Byrd of Milan passed away at the age of 63 on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jamie was born on Monday, June 8, 1959 in West Liberty, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Earl and Clayetta (Whitt) Lykins. Jamie married her loving husband, Hershel Byrd on August 23, 2003 and he survives. Jamie attended the Bridge of Hope Worship Center and loved attending her church. Jamie worked for Batesville Casket Company in the embroidery department. She loved to play guitar hero, enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with her husband, and going to the campground. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jamie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Hershel Byrd of Milan; daughters Crystal McMillian (Marcus) of Lockport, Louisiana, Mindy McFarland (Jacob) of Milan, and Treasa Taylor of Milan; father of children John Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in-law Lois Sallee (Randy) of Milan; brother-in-law Richard Byrd (Cindy) of Osgood; niece Mylinda Fine (Tim); nephew Anthony Lykins; grandchildren Brandon, Chance Jr., Jasmine, Laurinzie, Trevor, Aiden, Marcus Jr., Jonathan, Serenity, Phoenix, Jordan, and Crystalin; and one great-grandchild.
Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clayetta Lykins, and brother Douglas James Lykins.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Jamie from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. The burial will take place in Little Memory Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Jamie to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
