James Daniel Baugh, 90, of Greensburg, passed away at 10:58 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility at Columbus. He was born on October 30, 1932, in Decatur County, the son of Robert L. and Bessie Oletha (Owens) Baugh. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and graduated from Jackson Township High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran in the 61st Field Artillery Battery having served during Korea. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1985 after 30 years of service and continued to contract for Cummins till 1989. He was a member of the Greensburg Eagles Lodge Post #927 and a former member of the Greensburg American Legion Post #129. He was avid fisherman and enjoyed his trips to Canada. He also enjoyed bird and coon hunting. Survivors include his daughter, Julie (Bruce) Trotter of Hope; his sons, Ronald William “Bill” Baugh of Chillicothe, Ohio and Louis E. (Teresa) Baugh of Greensburg; his sister, Betty (Jimmy) Tutton of Columbus; his brother, Randy (Judi) Baugh of Greensburg, Mary Baugh; his ten grandchildren and his fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Following his wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service with military rites will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Smith officiating.
