INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — It’s that time of year again where millions of Americans will be hitting the roadways to travel for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Indiana State Police and other law enforcement agencies will provide extra manpower and patrols to Indiana roadways this weekend and throughout the holiday season.
Indiana State Police troopers will be actively looking for those motorists who exhibit unsafe driving behaviors that may be dangerous to other motorists.
Some of those behaviors include distracted driving, following too closely, making unsafe lane movements, speeding, operating while intoxicated, and seat-belt violations.
In addition to mobile patrols, troopers will also participate in checkpoints to pursue those who may be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The Indiana State Police encourages motorists who observe erratic driving to call 9-1-1 and report the unsafe driving behavior to their local law enforcement agency.
