GREENSBURG, Ind. — Thursday night, the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Future in Ag night.
Director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, Ted McKinney, talks about the future of agriculture in Southeastern Indiana.
McKinney’s presentation included information about the state’s INDIANA GROWN food initiative, aimed at promoting Indiana-produced agriculture products.
According to McKinney, the Hoosier State leads the nation in production of ducks, seed soybeans, and wood office furniture, and is second in production of ice cream, popcorn, and processed tomatoes.
McKinney also stated agricultural business in Indiana creates $25 billion in gross domestic product and includes 17% of the state’s workforce.
