The Batesville Middle School wrestlers traveled to Milan on Tuesday Night. The Batesville grapplers put up a good fight yet fell short 57-43 in dual meet action.
Excitement rose through the crowd as both Jackson Wooldridge and Hunter Hon put together a pair of pins, defeating their opponents. Sam Koch topped off the Milan opponent in a 15-0 tech fall early in the second period. Additional wins came from Dallas Lamping, Ethan Gibbs, Chris Lainez, Mitchell Thomas, and Alex Plemmons.
Other team members putting together a solid effort in the evenings match included Joey Gutzwiller, Caleb Bischoff-Niece, JT Linkel, Isaiah Riffle, Andy Gutzwiller, Henry Lipinski, Noah Hewitt, Kevin Crowell, Cole Streuwing, and Abrahm Garcia.
Five additional reserve matches were had as Logan Vierling, Matthew King, Enrique Arnold, Zach Jones, and Dylan Holcomb stepped to the center of the mat.
Huge improvements by each wrestler were seen in mat action.
Batesville wrestlers will take a week break from dual meet action, as they will await their next meet on Thursday Feb. 27 at Sunman Dearborn Middle School.
