Ina Hadden

Ina Louise Hadden from Sunman, IN passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Born and raised in Newport, KY, Ina graduated from Newport High School. She met her husband, Charles, when she was just a little girl and was best friends with his sister growing up. After they married in October 1960, they lived in Ft. Knox while Charles was serving in the United States Army. Ina worked in various administrative and financial roles for several branches of the US Government including the ATF, FBI, and the FAA, most recently serving as a military processor. Following the idea of some friends, Charles & Ina bought property in Yorkville in the 70’s and then later moved to Sunman. Once she retired, Ina didn’t want to slow down and began working in the cafeteria of Sunman Elementary. Soon she moved roles within the school district to a teacher’s assistant and eventually began working with children who had special needs at North Dearborn Elementary and East Central Middle School. This position is what her heart desired and she loved every minute of it. She held this position for many years, and enjoyed going on field trips and riding the bus to help her kids get on and off the bus every day. When Ina wasn’t working, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens at home, was a huge fan of UK sports, and loved to travel. Cruising was one of her favorite ways to travel, but also enjoyed many bus trips with her sisters and friends. Ina was also very involved with her church, St. Jacob’s of Bluecreek. Making pancakes at the church breakfasts and baking pies for the various dinners and festivals were just a couple of the ways she would volunteer. She was eager to help in any way she could and often found it difficult to say no.

Ina will be deeply missed by Charles Hadden, her husband of 64 years; her sons Keith (Janet) Hadden and Brian (Lori) Hadden; grandchildren Aaron (Kelly) Hadden, Bobbi Jo (Gary Walton) Hadden, Stephen (Lika) Hadden, Heather (Jamie Davis) Hadden; 12 great grandchildren; siblings Charlene (Gary) Policastro and Maggie Barhorse; and her poodle, Pepper. She is preceded in death by her son Guy Hadden; parents Helen and Gilbert Courtney; and siblings David Daniels and Tiny Daniels.
