(Franklin County, IN) – Jerry Ruben Hunt has announced his candidacy for Franklin County Council District 4.
“I believe our county government should better reflect the voices of the people it serves,” Hunt said. “Franklin County is full of hardworking, dedicated residents who care deeply about their communities. However, many feel disconnected from county decision-making or unsure how their concerns are being heard. I believe open, honest, and consistent communication is essential for effective local government—and that’s where I want to make a difference.”
Hunt says, if elected, he will prioritize transparency, accessibility, and listening to the community.
“I want residents to feel informed, respected, and confident that their input matters before decisions are made. The County Council should work with the people, not apart from them,” Hunt said. “I am running, to be a strong, responsible voice for Franklin County—focused on fiscal responsibility, practical solutions, and representing the values of our community.”
Hunt adds his goal is to build trust between county government and residents by being present, engaged, and accountable.
“This campaign is about service, not politics as usual. Together, we can improve communication, strengthen our community, and ensure Franklin County remains a great place to live and work,” he said.
The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 5.
