(Indianapolis, IN) – Libertarian Andy Horning has launched his campaign to run for Indiana’s soon-to-be-vacant U.S. Senate seat.
He joins Republican Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) and retired Democratic state lawmaker Marc Carmichael in the race to succeed Senator Mike Braun, who is running for Indiana Governor next year.
“The constitutional purpose of US. Senators are to be the voice of our sovereign states against the violation of constitutional restraints, abuse of power, and loss of individual human rights. For that fundamental, constitutional, legal purpose, Indiana has not had a U.S. Senator for generations,” Horning said. “But there will be one such candidate for Indiana U.S. Senate in 2024 — me.”
Horning has made a multitude of unsuccessful runs for political office dating back to his bid for the Indiana House of Representatives District 96 seat in 1996.
His other bids for political office include runs for Congress in 2014 and 2016 for the Eighth District seat; a bid for the U.S. Senate in 2012, and back-to-back campaigns for Governor in 2000 and 2008.
