(Southeastern IN) – The area will be under a Heat Advisory starting at Noon today and running through 8 p.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service says we’ll have a prolonged period of dangerously hot conditions with heat index values near 100 degrees.
Forecasters say the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity could cause heat illnesses.
You’re urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioning and out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
You should also take extra precautions when outside; wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing; try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening, and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
