Heat Advisory Extended to Friday Night

(Southeastern IN) – The Heat Advisory has been extended.

It is now set to expire Friday at 8 p.m. because heat index values in the upper 90s to lower 100s are expected.

The National Weather Service says hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

You’re urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up relatives, neighbors, the elderly and pets.

Extra precautions to take when outside include wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Forecasters remind you to take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
