Harold A. Feller, age 92 of Brookville, Indiana died Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born March 31, 1928 in Fairfield Township, Franklin County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Ernest and Katherine (Gillman) Feller. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was inducted into the Army on March 2, 1951. He spent 11 months and 17 days on foreign soil. His most significant duty assignment was HQ & HQ & SRV Company 931st Engineer Aviation Group. He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Camp Stars, United Nations Service Medal and 1 Overseas Service Bar. He held the rank of Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge on December 1, 1952.
Harold was retired after having been self-employed most of his life. He is mainly known for owning and operating the Feller Oil Company which included a bulk delivery service and gas station. He was a distributor for the Texaco and the Marathon brands throughout his career.
Harold enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He enjoyed walking, playing cards, seeing and being with his family. Coincidently he had a grandchild and great grandchild share his birthdate of March 31.
He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion.
He married Frances “Lorene” Gesell on September 2, 1950. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1998. He remarried on August 21, 1999 to Anna Mae (Kirschner) Pulskamp. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2019.
He is also survived by – 3 Sons and Daughter-in-laws – Ron (Cathy) of Brookville, Don (Gretel) of Zanesville and Jim (Lorinda) of Fort Wayne. 7 Grandchildren and their families – Amy (Dusty) Hill – Ashlan and Austin, Eric (Kristin) Feller – Landon, Alexis and Zayne, Kara (Travis) Wooley – Rayna, Dakota and Knox, Dustin Feller – Austin and Madalynn, Julie (Chris) McCormick – Camden, Noah and Elle, Bryce (Jessie) Feller – Brixton and Brett Feller. A brother – Arthur of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by a Grandson – Christopher, his brother – Robert and an infant sister.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 9 until 11 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Fr. Shaun Whittington will officiate a Mass of Christian burial at St. Michael Catholic Church at 11:30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 Brookville American Legion.
