Gregory “Greg” Bruner, 90, of Dillsboro, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Greg was born Friday, January 10, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Lester and Adelaide (Beiting) Bruner. He married Patricia Burns April 26, 1952 and she preceded him in death May 28, 2012. Greg was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church; member of the John Birch Society; retired from Cincinnati Bell; and served his country in U.S. Coast Guard. He loved reading, especially the Cincinnati Enquirer and current events. He enjoyed watching tv; loved working; spending time on his farm; raising beef cattle; but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Greg is survived by his children: Patti (Denny) Wortman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Judy (Jerry) Caldwell of Dillsboro, Jan (Tom) Wells of Indianapolis, Terri (Charlie) Redwine of Dillsboro, Doug (Beth) Bruner of Dillsboro, CeCe (Alan) Doll of Sunman, and Paul (Peggy) Bruner of Dillsboro; sisters: Mary Adele Maertz of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cathe Sebald of Union, Kentucky, and Rita Frey of Cincinnati, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Mary Beth Bruner, brothers: Lester Jr. and Gerald Bruner; and sister June Holman.
To adhere to the Governor’s mandate, a private service will be held for Greg Bruner’s family. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Milan. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given in honor of Greg to St. Charles Catholic Church.
