Greensburg Thrower Heading to Delaware After HS Success

One of the best individual performances among local high school athletes in this year’s spring season was that of Greensburg track & field senior Emarie Jackson, who finished 2nd in the state in the shot put at 48 feet 9 inches, and 3rd at the Outdoor National meet in Philadelphia, with 47 feet, 3 and ¾ inches.  Emarie tells WRBI she’s had a couple key people to look up to…

Now that she’s graduated, Emarie’s committed to attending the University of Delaware in the fall.  One of her coaches there will be 2016 Olympic shot putter Darrell Hill.

Jackson’s success seems to run in the family, since she was coached by her dad in high school…  and her younger brother Jai appears to be on a similar track…

And in this case, athletics and academics go together…  when she gets to Delaware, she’ll be studying business.
