Greensburg, IN — The Greensburg Kiwanis Club recently donated $1,000 to Riley Hospital for Children. Statewide, Indiana Kiwanis Clubs contribute over $250,000 each and every year to Riley Hospital for Children.
Locally, the Greensburg Kiwanis Club helps out the community with many activities.
They help sponsor a Christmas party for Headstart kids ages 3-5 from low-income families.
They prepared breakfast for “Breakfast with Santa” at Lake Santee in December.
They rang the bell for the Cheer Fund, raising over $600.
They made a monetary donation to Trunk or Treat held at Greensburg Elementary School.
They had a booth at the fair to raise money for Riley Hospital.
In cooperation with the four other Kiwanis clubs in Decatur County, they helped sponsor a dinner last April to honor the Top 10 Seniors and their parents from both North and South Decatur High Schools.
They cooperated with the Greensburg Lions Club in sponsoring academic jackets for the Top Juniors at North Decatur High School.
The Greensburg Kiwanis Club is most proud to sponsor a local Aktion Club for special needs people. The Aktion Club meets on the first and third Thursdays at DSI at 11:30 am. The Aktion Club also has community service projects. Their favorite is making “Treat Bags” and taking them to a local nursing home. They also raise money for Riley Hospital.
The main fundraiser for the Greensburg Kiwanis Club is their annual pancake and sausage breakfast held each year in conjunction with the Fall Festival in Greensburg.
Persons interested in serving our community and supporting Riley Hospital are invited to join the Greensburg Kiwanis Club.
