Glen Ray Baxter, 80, Brookville

Glen Ray Baxter, 80, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at Hospice of Cincinnati Hamilton Inpatient Care Unit in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born on October 9, 1945 in Portland, Indiana to James and Juanita Baxter.

Glen was a skilled welder and fabricator who took great pride in his craft. As the owner of Baxter Welding in Brookville, he built a reputation for honesty, quality workmanship, and dependability. His work ethic was extraordinary. He wasn’t afraid of long days or hard labor to provide for his family.

Beyond his business, Glen found joy in farming. He especially enjoyed raising goats, tending to his land, and working outdoors. He was happiest when his hands were busy and his family was nearby.

In 1967, Glen married the love of his life, Linda Richter . Together they built a life grounded in commitment, resilience, and devotion to family. Their marriage of 43 years was a testament to loyalty and partnership until Linda’s passing in 2010. Together they raised four children, and Glen’s greatest pride was being a father and grandfather. He led by example, teaching the value of hard work, integrity, and keeping your word.

Glen is survived by his children Michelle (Jimmy) Heher of Fairfield, Ohio, Joe Baxter of Brookville, Indiana, Brian (Joy) Baxter, of Brookville, and Patti (Richie Schmid II) Baxter, of Brookville; his grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsay, Abbigail, and Jaxon, as well as several great grandchildren; his siblings, Charles Baxter, Frank Baxter, Cheryl (Donald) Ball, Rick Baxter, Rob (Deb) Baxter.

In addition to his parents and wife, Linda, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Baxter and a brother, Dave Baxter.

Glen’s legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless lives he touched through his work and friendship. He will be remembered for his strong hands, his unwavering dedication, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
