Gladys F. Jenks, age 87, of Brookville, Indiana died Friday, July 7, 2017 at her residence in Brookville.
Born October 7, 1929 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late John & Edna Mae (Glaub) Zimmer. On October 11, 1963 she was united in marriage to George S. Jenks, and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2006.
Gladys worked at the former Jay Garment Company in Brookville, the Franklin County Clerks Office and Schnadig Furniture Factory.
She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church; the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #449 of Brookville; as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include three children, Chuck (Jenny) Grimes of Brookville, Indiana, Ronald (Linda) Grimes of Springhill, Tennessee and Faye (John Redelman) Hay of Cedar Grove, Indiana, eight grandchildren, Heather (Ron) McCann, Megan (Michael) Cloncs, Aaron (Sarah) Grimes, Kelsey (Justin) Powell; Melissa (Josh) Miller, Stacy (Mark) Ramsey, Lynn Anderson and Rodney (Brooke) Grimes; as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband George, she was preceded in death by a son, Randall Grimes.
Family & friends may visit from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville; where Eastern Star Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 A.M.
Rev. Curtis Bond will officiate the Funeral Services on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, immediately following the Eastern Star Services, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.
