Gerald H. Marker, 92, of Aurora, Indiana passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, March 3, 2025 in Aurora. Gerald was born on March 17, 1932 in Bear Branch, IN and was the son of the late Lawrence and Laurena (Hueseman) Marker.
Gerald was a graduate of Dillsboro High School, Class of 1951. After graduation, he enlisted and served four years in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Korea and Japan and served as a certified mechanic. After returning home, he married the love of his life Patricia (Housmyer) on August 17, 1957 in Bear Branch. He worked at Monarch Auto Supply in Aurora, and then went on to work and retire from Proctor & Gamble.
Gerald was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a true farmer at heart. He enjoyed spending his time tinkering on his farm, driving his blue tractor, and cheering on IU basketball. In later years, he loved relaxing outside in his red Adirondack chair. Most of all, he loved family dinners and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Gerald will be missed by his wife, Patricia (of 67 years); children Brenda Ashcraft of Aurora, IN; Randy (Michele) Marker of Villa Hills, KY; Rhonda Callaway (Randy) of Bright, IN; son David (Jill) Marker of Nineveh, IN. Grandchildren Kassie (fiancé Jeff), Garrett, Jarod, Grant, and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Laurena Marker, and his brother Clarence Marker.
Family and friends will be received on Friday March 7, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Greendale, IN. Funeral services will immediately follow, with Pastor Steve Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at the Marker-Althoff Cemetery, Bear Branch, Indiana.
