George Arthur Pictor, age 84, passed on October 24th, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana. Born to George M. and Anita (nee Dillhoff) Pictor, on November 18th, 1940 in Batesville, Indiana. George A. married Jane (nee Norris) on September 15th, 1979, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon, Indiana.
George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon, Indiana. George attended Napoleon schools and graduated from Jac-Cen -Del High School before attending Purdue University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was a farmer his entire life, who loved reading, learning about rivers, history, and nature. He especially loved trees and birds.
George is survived by his wife Jane Pictor of Batesville; son Mark Pictor of Texas; and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. George was preceded in death by parents; and sister Martha Ann Heazeltine.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Church, in Napoleon, IN, with Rev. Binu Matthew officiating. The burial is at the St. Maurice Cemetery in Napoleon immediately following with military rites being conducted by the Ripley County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 of Batesville.
