Franklin County, In. — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says a Monday motorcycle accident injured two Brookville residents.
Deputies say a motorcycle driven by Thomas Nichols, 46, of Brookville, was northbound on State Road 101 south of Fairfield Causeway Road when a deer entered the roadway. Nichols laid the bike down in an effort to avoid the deer.
Both Nichols and a passenger, Anissa McConnel, 40, were flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment. Nichols was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries. McConnel was wearing a helmet and was treated for leg injuries.
