
(Milan/Versailles, IN) – Firefighters from several departments battled a pair of barn fires in Ripley County on Thursday.
The Milan Volunteer Fire Department was called to a barn fire on the 2200 block of State Road 101 around 6:45 a.m.
The barn was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and they used a defensive attack to put out the flames and protect other nearby structures.
Mutual aid was provided by The Delaware, Sunman, Moores Hill, and Dillsboro fire departments.
Meanwhile, Versailles firefighters were dispatched early Thursday evening to a barn fire on the 900 block of County Road 25 South (pictured).
The barn was fully involved, with the fire spreading to a nearby home.
Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and save the residence.
Assistance was provided by the Osgood and Napoleon volunteer fire departments.
There were no injuries reported in either incident.
