(Greensburg, IN) – The final City of Greensburg Public Safety Community Cookout of the year, which was scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, October 19) from 6-8 p.m. has been canceled.
City officials say the forecast for inclement weather and cold temperatures prompted the cancellation of the event, which was scheduled to be held in the Westridge Addition along Tarkington Drive.
This was the third year for the popular cookouts, which are scheduled from May through October as a chance for residents to get to know local first responders.
They are open not only to Greensburg and Decatur County residents but to everyone throughout Southeastern Indiana.
The public safety cookouts are expected to return next year.
