FC Commissioner Election Leads to Vacancy on County Council

(Brookville, IN) – Jeff Koch’s election this week as Franklin County Commissioner in District 3 means there is an open seat on county council in January.

Franklin County Republicans will have to hold a caucus of precinct committee members to choose Koch’s replacement on county council.

Applicants must be registered Republicans and live in County Council District 3, which is made up of Salt Creek, Ray, Posey, Laurel and Blooming Grove townships.

County Council will also have to pick a new leader at the start of 2025, since Koch is the current president of the body in charge of the county’s purse strings.
