(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville freshman boys basketball team continued its strong start to the season Thursday night, rolling past Connersville 54–21 at home to improve to 5–1.
Batesville set the tone early and never let up. The Bulldogs opened the game with an 18–4 first quarter, then carried a 22–11 advantage into halftime. Any doubt was erased coming out of the locker room, as Batesville poured in 26 points in the third quarter to push the margin to 48–15 and effectively put the game away.
Cam Anderson led all scorers with 22 points, pacing a balanced offensive effort. Jax Negovetich followed with 7, while scoring was spread throughout the lineup as the Bulldogs maintained pressure on both ends of the floor.
The decisive win came on the home court at Batesville High School, where the freshman group has shown consistent energy and depth. Connersville, playing its third road game in a short span, struggled to slow Batesville’s fast starts in each half.
The Bulldogs now turn their attention to a busy stretch ahead, hosting three home games next week—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday—as the freshman squad looks to keep momentum rolling in front of the home crowd.
